Team—
I know you all just finished your gathering - I hope you’re as excited as I am with the good news. Previously I sent you all a update, I mentioned the following: “I am confident in this group. You all are some of the most motivated and talented creators we have had the pleasure to partner with - and we’re excited for that relationship to endure.”
Through your commitment and flexibility, especially over the last year, you repeatedly show that.
The player input from last fall’s Project ETHOS playtest was revealing. It validated the promise of a action-packed game but made clear we still had refinements needed. It uncovered the need for a clearer identity.
It has been motivating to see how far you’ve advanced. You embraced the input to heart and revamped Project ETHOS with a revitalized goal - one that’s ready to deliver on its promise to our fans.
The trust in Project ETHOS grows every day. To advance the outstanding progress you’ve made, I am thrilled to introduce the new hire as the incoming Studio Head of the team. Following some time of conversations, he officially joins us on Monday, October 20.
His leadership and expertise in the competitive gaming field is vast, having spent the recent years creating and leading some of the most recognizable series in the industry, such as Call of Duty: Black Ops, and most recently, the battle royale hit.
Please join me in greeting Ben in the coming days. We are all looking forward to keep witnessing the evolution of Project ETHOS in the time to ahead.
David
Experience of the Incoming Leader
The appointee currently serves in the position of senior developer and production lead at Respawn Entertainment for Apex Legends. He earlier worked at Treyarch and Activision in multiple production roles on the Call of Duty series, and, before that, had periods at other industry leaders.
Game Information and Concept
Project Ethos was announced in last year together with a public demo. Initially, the developers described the game as a "no-cost, third-person perspective action-packed experience and an exciting step forward on the style."
"Create your ideal gameplay session—or face defeat—in this engaging over-the-shoulder adventure! Build your hero in real-time to suit your personal playstyle," the game's pitch explains. "Take on the opponents with fresh skills, challenges, and obstacles that evolve every match. Will you withdraw carefully with your valuable rewards? Alternatively aim high, risk it all, and hope your group can earn top ranking? The decision is in your hands."
The game lacks an official debut schedule or platforms, but fans can look forward to additional details as development progresses.
