Beloved Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at the Age of Sixty.
US performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of hit series, like:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his family.
