Fresh Information Surface Concerning the Discovery of the Reiner Couple's Remains

New information has come to light regarding the untimely deaths of acclaimed filmmaker Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence home on Sunday.

A Alarm

As detailed in an account quoting a person close to the family, a practitioner scheduled for an session was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives close by.

When she went into the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was also present. A companion who had gone with her promptly called 911. Following this, emergency responders located Michele Singer Reiner's body.

Criminal Proceedings

The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, as well as the use of a dangerous weapon, reportedly a knife. He is now being held and is ineligible for bail.

Clarifications

The confidential informant questioned several earlier details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner informed emergency responders that her brother Nick resided in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.

Furthermore refuted widely reported suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "apprehensive" about Nick's behavior in the weeks leading up to the incident. Instead the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."

This refutation also extends to accounts of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a event hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they asserted that claims of a "major confrontation" between the two were inaccurate.

Ongoing Inquiry Details

According to law enforcement sources, the coroner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died Saturday night or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies pointed to they had been dead for a period of time.

Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his lawyer, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
