Starting XI

The goalkeeper Was rarely tested required during the opening 45 before tested by an opponent's curled attempt. His sliding tackle against Qazim Laci highlighted his reading of the game. Six out of ten

The debutant Tested against Albania’s main danger in their forward. Started in a central role early on but moved to the flank once a teammate was introduced. 7/10

John Stones Pushed into midfield with the ball at his feet, something he's known for previously. At times lacked urgency on the ball with the experiment was shelved after the break. 6/10

The tall defender A constant threat at set pieces, per usual, but may be another option for Stones in defense as opposed to alongside him. A loose pass after the break almost led to a goal from the visitors. Six

The young full-back A further composed display from the youngster following his first cap against another side. Saka was unable to take full advantage of an exquisite flick behind the opposing backline. His position looks secure so soon. 7/10

The newcomer A debut start in an England shirt. A bit sloppy when playing out but his whipped set-pieces posed a danger. A useful tempo-setter available to the coach to call upon against defensive opponents. Cautioned after a reckless challenge. Six

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free-kicks were dangerous. Had freedom to drift on the left only to be offside upon receiving in front of goal. Granted a well-earned substitution after an hour. Six

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced position on the right while also contributed with dirty work. Demonstrated flashes of quality and dragged an attempt high. Withdrawn in the closing stages by Rogers, his competition, after receiving a caution. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Had England’s top opening in the opening period, his shot smartly stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. As Quansah staying deep, it fell to him to provide width down the right side although his balls from the touchline were hit and miss. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th finishes in an England shirt. The first a typical poacher’s finish and the second a superb finish with his head after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and the side have every chance next summer with him up top. Eight

The attacker Struggled to make an impact on the left flank. Had a decent opportunity when set up by the midfielder but Strakosha made the save. Rashford produced a bigger influence when substituted. Five
