The Gunners Host Wolverhampton Wanderers in Key Premier League Clash

The stage is set for a intriguing Premier League contest as table-toppers Arsenal entertain bottom-placed Wolverhampton Wanderers to the Emirates Stadium.

Starting Lineups

Arsenal have opted for three changes following the team that suffered a 2-1 loss at Aston Villa last weekend. William Saliba, the Swedish striker and the Brazilian winger all come into the lineup. Martin Ødegaard and the Spanish midfielder drop to the bench, while Riccardo Calafiori is absent. Saliba is back after sitting out five matches through injury.

The visitors also make three adjustments to their lineup following being soundly beaten 4-1 at home by United last time out. The experienced full-back, João Gomes and Hwang Hee-chan start. Ki-Jana Hoever and Arias are on the substitutes, while Jean‐Ricner Bellegarde is omitted altogether.

The Setup

Good evening! Because, look at this …

The table tells a stark contrast. Arsenal sit proudly at the summit of the table, while their opponents prop up the league.

… however, even though this will be the 42nd occasion the top side have taken on the team at the foot of the division – with 30 out of 41, with seven draws – which team is behind two of the four all-time upsets? Indeed, Wolverhampton Wanderers, that’s who! So while Mikel Arteta will surely be anticipating another three points, the Wolves boss must know that long shots occasionally find the target, and you never know. The start is at 8 o'clock in the evening GMT. It’s on!

(The other two last-over-first victories in the modern top-flight era are Oldham’s 1-0 win over United in March 1993, and Spurs – yeah, a surprising one - defeating Liverpool in November 2008.)
