Her colleague, Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in critical condition.
Memorials across the state have taken place in their remembrance.
Presidential Call
The president stated he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the state National Guard.
“I stated: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president informed the press. “And likewise with Andrew, recover or not.”
Public Reaction
Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Beckstrom.
Both the soldiers had been serving with the military unit as part of the president’s federal initiative to assist policing efforts in Washington DC.
Honoring Sarah Beckstrom
“She was the kind of student that instructors desired. She carried herself with inner fortitude, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted people around her,” Hankins, the head of her previous school, stated to the media. “She was caring, compassionate and always willing to assist people.”
Service details for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.
Legal Measures and Government Revisions

The airman, a resident of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of Musselman high school, per the AP.
He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey stated on television.
Attorney general the attorney general informed a news show that she also intended to meet with his relatives.
Legacy of Beckstrom
Beckstrom, from her hometown, completed her education from Webster County high school in June 2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a law enforcement officer with honor, per the West Virginia National Guard.
“She had a lot of compassion and she definitely had fortitude,” Morrisey told the crowd at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
